Capillus82 Laser Therapy Cap

Capillus82 Laser Therapy Cap Receives FDA Clearance for Treatment of Hair Loss

Capillus82™ Laser Therapy Cap Receives FDA Clearance for Treatment of Hair Loss

The Capillus82™ has been cleared by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of androgenic alopecia in adults, announces Miami-based medical device manufacturer, Capillus, LLC.

FDA clearance substantiates the effectiveness of the brand new laser therapy cap, while also demonstrating its safety when used at home to combat hair loss.

“Following the success of our premier FDA cleared laser therapy cap for hair regrowth,” says Carlos Piña, Capillus CEO, “we are excited to introduce the Capillus82, an extremely affordable, convenient, and proven product to those suffering with hair loss.”

Over 50 million adults suffer with hair loss in the United States alone. Many adults—especially women—are not candidates for surgical hair restoration.

Low level laser therapy (LLLT) products have become a popular alternative, offering a safe, non-surgical treatment option that has been proven to increase hair counts by 51% or more.

When it comes to ease of use, no other hair loss product can compare to the hands-free design of the Capillus82.

Whereas combs must be repetitively brushed through the hair during use, Capillus82 is simply worn beneath a hat or baseball cap for hands-free treatment.

And while the brushing aspect of laser combs often causes frustration that leads patients to abandon treatment, the wearable design of the Capillus82 has a high degree of convenience that ensures consistent use.

The design of the Capillus82 offers more than just convenience, however. After inserted beneath an ordinary hat, the Capillus82 is nearly undetectable, eliminating the “shame factor” associated with hair loss treatment.

While other laser therapy domes are big, bulky, and painfully obvious, the battery-operated Capillus82 can be worn with confidence around the house, in public, and on-the-go.

Capillus Gives You More: At just $799, Capillus82 is comparable in price to other devices, yet delivers more lasers for faster, more effective hair loss treatment.

With such a modest price, patients maintain the freedom and flexibility to continue other treatments along with Capillus82, like Rogaine® and prescription medications.

Readers are invited to visit Capillus.com to compare similarly priced LLLT devices for hair growth.

Patients are invited to visit http://www.capillus.com to learn more about the new FDA-approved Capillus82 home-use laser cap.

Advance Techniques Sponsors Womens Hair Loss Seminar

Advance Techniques of Richmond Sponsors Women’s Hair Loss Seminar

womens hair loss

Advance Techniques is sponsoring a no-obligation Women’s Hair Loss Seminar on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

The guest speaker is Kayla Martell, 2011 Miss America Finalist, who will be speaking out for women’s hair loss awareness.

More than 30 million women in the US struggle with hair loss, yet few know where to go or who to trust for answers.

Kayla lost her hair at age 11, yet went on to fulfill her dream of being in the Miss America pageant, something she accomplished years after struggling with her hair loss and not knowing what to do.

Kayla is now an advocate speaking out for women’s hair loss awareness.

When participating in a focus study to help women understand the causes and solutions available for hair loss, Kayla and national hair loss expert Rhonda McCarthy both realized a consistent theme: women’s hair loss is a taboo subject.

Other than the medical field evaluating and treating any contributory illnesses, they offer little advice on how to deal with hair loss.

Celebrities flaunt their full heads of hair and admit to using hair extensions or wigs, but little is ever revealed about their hair loss, if they experience it.

Both women say that society tends to accept balding men, but perceives women with hair loss as being ill or having bad hygiene.

Realizing there was a great need for education, Rhonda and Kayla started touring the US conducting free seminars.

Rhonda McCarthy from Ft. Lauderdale, FL, will be addressing the causes of women’s hair loss and solutions, including the newest FDA cleared laser treatment.

“Women experiencing thinning hair or obvious hair loss tend to withdraw from society, being ashamed and thinking they did something to cause their hair loss,” says Rhonda. “It’s a very emotional experience for these women to finally find answers!”

The October 6, 2015, Women’s Hair Loss Seminar is being hosted by Advance Techniques, 9550 Midlothian Turnpike, Suite 201, Richmond, VA 23235, from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.

To RSVP or get additional information go to http://www.advancetechniquesva.com.

“We have been hearing about these seminars for years and are excited to now be bringing this event to Virginia,” says Advance Techniques’ Sally Peace. Co-owner Wendy Taylor adds, “Please come out and learn your options, meet Rhonda and Kayla, bring a friend or family member. It’s important to get the facts in a fun, and non-threatening environment.”

Tuesday, October 6, 2015, Women’s Hair Loss Seminar Registration: There is no charge to attend this event. Seating is limited.

Refreshments will be served.

All women attending will receive a complimentary, microscopic hair and scalp analysis in a confidential consultation to address their specific concerns.

Theradome Recruits Men with Thinning Hair to Test Over-the-Counter Laser Helmet for Hair Restoration

Theradome Recruits Men with Thinning Hair to Test Over-the-Counter Laser Helmet for Hair Restoration

Theradome Inc., home to the first FDA-cleared and over-the-counter wearable hair restoration device for women, has begun one of the most comprehensive studies in Laser Phototherapy to date.

The study will gauge the success of the Theradome LH80 PRO Laser Helmet on men with thinning hair or who are showing signs of balding. Northwest Dermatology in Portland, OR, MedaPhase LLC in Atlanta, GA, and the Tennessee Clinical Research Center in Nashville, TN are recruiting men ages 18 to 50 who have been diagnosed with androgenetic alopecia to participate in a 26-week clinical trial study.

Dr. Ken Washenik MD, Ph.D., a leading physician and clinical researcher in hair loss, is providing medical oversight for Theradome’s clinical study.

Developed by former NASA scientist Tamim Hamid, the Theradome Laser Helmet leverages Laser Phototherapy (also known as Low-Level Laser Light Therapy) to stimulate weak hair follicles by providing them with targeted laser energy, which improves cellular metabolism and protein synthesis required to grow and maintain a healthy head of hair.

“The positive response we’ve had to Theradome thus far has been absolutely overwhelming– not to mention very humbling,” says Hamid.  “We are now diligently working to bring men those same benefits as seen by women using the device around the globe.”

Previously only available to dermatologists and specialized hair loss clinics, laser-based hair restoration therapy has since come a long way.

Theradome’s LH80 PRO can be worn twice a week for 20 minutes in the comfort of an individual’s home, and most subjects have reported seeing results in only 18 weeks.

The double-blind, sham controlled, randomized and multi-centered study will test Theradome LH80 PRO’s ability to promote hair growth in men when compared to what is known as a “Sham Device,” a fake Laser Phototherapy unit worn by a control group unaware of the helmet’s authenticity.

For more information and a complete list of eligibility requirements, please visit https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT02528552?term=theradome&rank=1.

Cellmid in évolis® hair loss pitch to Australian women

Cellmid in evolis hair loss pitch to Australian women

Cellmid in évolis hair loss pitch to Australian women

Cellmid is launching a national advertising and media campaign to contribute to brand development and increase sales of its évolis® branded FGF5 inhibitor hair growth products in Australia.

The 12 month campaign, which launches on 30th August 2015, is the third component of its three pillar strategy to maximise market penetration of its products.

It will primarily target women suffering from hair loss or hair thinning and it is expected to build brand recognition and sales through pharmacy retail and online.

The other two components are expanding pharmacy distribution and hiring contract sales teams.

Cellmid’s campaign will include free-to-air and subscription channels. It will run over several months using a combination of 30 second and 15 second ads across the board.

Sydney-based Ikon Group is providing creative brand development and positioning services as well as implementing a comprehensive media strategy for the company’s hair products.

Emma Chen, general manager of Cellmid’s consumer health business, commented:

“This is a very exciting, major media campaign for our FGF5 inhibitor hair loss products.

“We are especially delighted to be the first ones to bring an innovative solution to women with hair thinning or hair loss concerns through this campaign.”

Advertising Campaign

The campaign will include television, digital and social channels as well as engagement with key influencers, bloggers and opinion leaders.

It is expected to last twelve months and will also serve as test marketing for Cellmid’s global brand development plans.

This will include free-to-air and subscription channels using a combination of 30 second and 15 second ads across the board. Programs targeted will be those focused on lifestyle, reality and drama.

Australian Sales

In May 2015, the company increased its product offerings from two to six stock keeping units and commenced the broadening of its pharmacy distribution.

This resulted in an increase in sales in 4Q FY2105 to $960,000 bringing full-year sales up to $1.84 million for its FGF5 inhibitor hair growth products.

This is up 63% on the last financial year.

It also lays the foundation for FY2016 sales to significantly exceed the previous year.

Analysis

The launch of Cellmid’s media and advertising campaign targeting women is part of the company’s plans to further increase sales of its évolis® branded FGF5 inhibitor hair growth products in Australia.

This could address a sizeable market given that around 30% of women over 35 experience significant hair loss either transiently or permanently.

Adding to that, independent market research conducted Australia wide on just over 1000 women revealed that 38% of women above 34 are concerned their hair is thinning with 47% having not sought help as they didn’t think anyone could offer any solution.

Other research has also indicated that 40% of women experience visible hair loss by the age of 40.

Sales have already been on a growth path with 4Q results of $960,000 making up about half of FY2105 sales.

Adding to this, the company has yet to ship products to 70% of its planned pharmacy distribution while its GP sales force only started in May 2015.

In July, it raised $4 million through an oversubscribed placement of shares priced at $0.03 to leverage increasing sales and further expand its growth in Australia and internationally.

The company had $1.58 million in cash as at 30th June 2015.

Ink-credible Scalp Micropigmentation

Ink-credible announces the launch of their new Scalp Micropigmentation clinic

Ink-credible announces the launch of their new Scalp Micropigmentation clinic

For many people, hair loss is an embarrassing and distressing condition. They often feel self-conscious and less attractive.

There are many ways that people attempt to resolve their baldness. They use fibers, powders, hair systems and comb-overs.

Many choose hair transplant surgery where hairs from the back of their heads are removed and implanted on their crown or hairline.

Recently, a new method to treat baldness has been developed. Scalp Micropigmentation is a form of tattoo where pigment is implanted in the scalp to simulate tiny hair follicles.

This procedure then gives the illusion of a full head of hair.

Who can benefit from this new hair loss solution?

Men who wish to sport the buzzed look can appear to have a full head of hair, complete with a natural, youthful hairline.

Some hair transplant patients are not satisfied with the density of their hair. With the addition of Scalp Micropigmentation, these men can achieve the desired look of a full head of hair.

Often Hair Transplant patients are self-conscious about the linear scar resulting from the hair transplant surgery. Through Scalp Micropigmentation, Carol Cheshire, president of Ink-credible Scalp Micropigmentation is able to camouflage the scar and blend it with the rest of the hair.

People who suffer with Alopecia feel self-conscious and are often perceived as being ill or going through chemotherapy, when in fact they are perfectly healthy. Scalp Micropigmentation takes away the stigma of baldness and restores a natural look. Carol can also provide natural-looking eyebrows for men or women with Alopecia.

Thinning hair is an embarrassment to women. Scalp Micropigmentation can fill in the areas of hair loss and help them look beautiful, younger and restore their confidence.

Women often seek Permanent Makeup (cosmetic tattoo) to restore the fullness of their eyebrows as well.

About Ink-credible Scalp Micropigmentation:

Ms. Carol Cheshire, President of Ink-credible, has many years of experience in Permanent Makeup. Her expertise has included restoring beautiful eyebrows, eyeliner, lips and areolas. She has performed her services nationally and in Canada.

She works primarily out of the Bucks/Lehigh County, Pa region but is open to travel globally.

Ms. Cheshire has been specifically trained and certified in Scalp Micropigmentation. She is one of the few independent providers in the region.

Nourish Beaute hair loss shampoo

Nourish Beaute Now Includes Coconut Oil In Its Popular Hair Loss Shampoo

Nourish Beaute Now Includes Coconut Oil In It’s Popular Hair Loss Shampoo

Coconut oil has become one of the most popular nutritional supplements in recent years due to an overwhelming range of beneficial properties.

Key among them, though perhaps lesser known, is its ability to improve hair lost through natural aging (androgenic alopecia).

One of the country’s leading hair loss shampoos, Nourish Beaute’s vitamins Shampoo, features a blend of coconut oil, as well as castor oil, along with the European-patented DHT-blocker Procapil.

Nourish Beaute hair loss shampoo

Vitamins Shampoo is available exclusively through Amazon.

Nourish Beaute incorporates coconut oil into its proprietary vitamins hair loss shampoo blend for a number of key reasons.

First is the oil’s well-studied antibacterial and antifungal properties. Hair loss is often caused by a number of contributing factors, including fungus that can develop in the roots which coconut oil has been shown to be effective at treating.

It also stimulates blood circulation to help deliver nutrients to ailing hair. Coconut oil helps to protect the roots and binds hair proteins due to its high lauric acid content.

And finally, coconut oil is a great source of potent antioxidants such as vitamins E, K and iron which help reverse damage from free radicals.

“Coconut oil is one of nature’s greatest gifts,” said Nourish Beaute founder Cynthia Ferrara. “It prevents breakage, reduces hair protein loss and actually helps to bind the proteins in a reinforced matrix to better protect the roots from weakening and brittleness.

And it is a natural volumizer, which helps to make hair look thicker and healthier immediately.”

Of course, while coconut oil is an excellent addition to the blend, Nourish Beaute’s vitamins Shampoo also features the active ingredient Procapil to help regrow hair lost to aging in both men and women.

Procapil is a DHT-blocker, patented in Europe, and beginning to just gain wider use in the United States.

It has been proven to increase new hair growth by up to 121% as well as to reduce hair loss by 46%.

Procapil is derived from natural ingredients and contains no hormones or drugs so it is safe to use without worry about side effects.

Nourish Beaute’s vitamins Shampoo is produced by a small, family-owned company competing head-to-head with Nioxin, Minoxidil and Rogaine.

It is manufactured in an FDA-registered, GMP-Certified facility and contains non-GMO ingredients.

coffee hair loss shampoo

Caffeine Combats Hair Loss – German Scientist

What does caffeine and the male hair have in common?

A great deal, according to a German scientist.

He has discovered, in collaboration with German research institutes and clinics that the morning booster drink combats male hair loss.

Research and Development of Dr Kurt Wolff head, Dr Adolf Klenk said the research provided evidence that once caffeine penetrated deep into the hair roots, it could protect the hair from negative testosterone impact and premature hair loss.

“We invented a shampoo from concentrated caffeine which delivers energy needed for hair growth phase and it also worked to counteract the effect of testosterone that causes baldness,” he said.

However, he said the treatment was not really effective for reversal but more on prevention.

“The young guy should start the prevention treatment from puberty, especially if he has genetic basis…it can be ascertained from the father and grandfather’s history of hair condition.”

Dr Klenk said drinking coffee could not provide the same effect because the dose of caffeine needed to make its way up to the hair root was about 40 to 50 cups of coffee consumption and it would be quickly diluted and excreted by the body.

He was in Kuala Lumpur recently, to present his pioneering research on the effects of caffeine on hair loss and has travelled around the world to share his knowledge on this discovery.

Is Your Hair Trying to Tell You Something

While it’s often said that clothes make the man, it can be argued that good hair makes the woman. A gorgeous, full head of shiny hair can be any woman’s best feature, hands down.

But hair loss experts warn that subtle changes in the hair can signal early signs of hair loss in younger women that should be addressed before hair loss progresses.

Paul C. Cotterill, MD, a hair restoration surgeon based in Toronto and past president of the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgery (ISHRS), advised that younger women should pay close attention to these three warnings signs that could indicate the start of hair loss.

Here are 3 warning signs of hair loss for women:

1 – Increase in overall scalp hair shedding: Normal growing scalp hair sheds at a rate up to 100-150 hairs per day. When the body is under stress — both physiologically or psychologically — hair shedding can increase to 200-225 hairs per day.

2 – Decrease in the overall volume of hair: When women are losing their hair or experiencing rapid shedding, they may notice that their ponytail is getting less thick. There is less hair to tie back and more see-through to the scalp.

3 – Change in hair texture: Sometimes when early hair loss occurs, the hair may start to become finer, not grow as fast, and/or break more easily.

“There are many factors that can affect scalp hair growth, and extreme dieting coupled with extreme exercising — both of which can be common in women in their 20s and 30s — are frequent hair loss culprits that women may not suspect,” said Dr. Cotterill. “When there’s extreme weight loss, or rapid weight loss over a short period of time without proper diet, that puts more stress on the entire body, including more hair falling out than normal.”

Dr. Cotterill explained that in addition to extreme dieting and exercise, several other factors can contribute to hair loss or hair damage in women. These triggers include:

  • Chronic stress
  • Iron deficiency
  • Elevated male hormones
  • Thyroid condition
  • Family history of scalp hair loss
  • Harsh styling products
  • Chlorine left on hair after swimming

“It is important for young women experiencing scalp hair loss to not put off seeing a qualified hair restoration physician, as a thorough history and physical should be performed on women to determine the cause of the hair shedding, loss or breakage,” said Dr. Cotterill. “Many questions need to be asked to rule out a medical condition or a lifestyle change that can contribute to hair loss.

A patient’s family history of hair loss also needs to be addressed, as this is the most common cause of hair loss in men and women. Once the proper examination is performed, only then can the physician offer a valid opinion with proven treatment options.”

According to results of a new member survey conducted by the ISHRS, the number of women seeking help for hair loss is on the rise worldwide. The percent of surgical hair restoration patients that were female increased from 13.7 percent in 2012 to 15.3 percent in 2014 (a 12 percent increase).

Similarly, the percent of female non-surgical hair restoration patients also increased over this two-year period — from 33.2 percent to 40.1 percent (a 21 percent increase).

To help patients understand the causes and available treatments for hair loss, the ISHRS has produced a series of videos available on its website (http://www.ishrs.org) entitled “Why do women lose their hair?” and “Why do guys lose their hair?”

Boston Surgeon Dr Leonard Recommends Capillus Laser Cap for Hair Loss

Hair transplant surgeon of the stars, Dr. Robert Leonard, recommends the Capillus272™ laser cap for patients in search of a discreet, portable, and effective method of non-surgical hair restoration. Capillus272 is available through authorized physicians only, like Boston-based Leonard Hair Transplant Associates.

“The Capillus272 is the most powerful unit for home use anywhere in the country,” explains Dr. Leonard. “This bio stimulating laser has 272 laser diodes which impact hair follicles in a very positive way.”

Earlier this year, the Capillus272Pro™ received FDA clearance for the promotion of hair regrowth in adults with androgenic alopecia (AGA).

Clearance substantiates both safety and efficacy of the Capillus272, two of the most important things to consider when comparing various hair loss treatment options.

“I am very excited that the Capillus272 laser product has been cleared by the FDA for both efficacy and safety in the treatment of hair loss for both men and women,” explains Dr. Leonard. “Ninety percent of my patients stabilize further progression, and 50% regrow hair after one year of using Capillus272.”
