Evolution Hair Loss Institute and Advanced Trichology Make Their Inc. 5000 List Debut

For the first time, Evolution Hair Loss Institute and Advanced Trichology has been named to the Inc. 5000 list. Appearing at #1063 on the prestigious list that honors the nation’s fastest-growing private companies, Evolution Hair Loss Institute and Advanced Trichology take pride in the research and achievements in the hair loss and restoration space that has helped thousands of people around the globe. It is the first trichology company to be recognized.

Founded by certified trichologist William Gaunitz, WTS, Evolution Hair Loss Institute and Advanced Trichology have normalized and increased the conversation surrounding hair regrowth. Gaunitz spent 20 years working with different modalities and variables to discover why we experience hair loss, and how to regrow it. His research led to three core reasons why some lose their locks and the development of 12 nutritional and topical products targeting each specific cause.

“I’ve been committed to studying hair loss since I began losing my own as a teenager. Pursuing a career in trichology has been incredibly rewarding, especially when I see how life-changing the hair regrowth experience is for patients. I’m honored to have Evolution Hair Loss Institute and Advanced Trichology recognized on the 2020 Inc. 5000 list,” says William Gaunitz, WTS, founder of Evolution Hair Loss Institute and Advanced Trichology. “The more mainstream trichology is, the more we can help those experiencing previously unexplainable hair loss. I’m looking forward to continuing to educate the world on the core reasons for hair loss and their remedies.”

“The companies on this year’s Inc. 5000 come from nearly every realm of business,” says Inc. editor-in-chief Scott Omelianuk. “From health and software to media and hospitality, the 2020 list proves that no matter the sector, incredible growth is based on the foundations of tenacity and opportunism.”

Gaunitz’s core goal is to inform both consumers and physicians on the core reasons for hair loss. He is working towards encouraging all dermatology offices to have a trichologist in-house to address these specific issues. While a dermatologist studies the skin for external problems, trichologists specialize in the internal issues, learning about how and why hair grows and doesn’t, scalp health and how-to re-grow hair. By offering hair loss sufferers real, sustainable solutions, Gaunitz is inserting a once taboo topic into everyday conversation. He wanted to create an all-encompassing brand that paired the problems with resolutions.

For 2021, William Gaunitz has expansion plans to increase both digital and physical product offerings.

Hair Transplant Market

Changing Trends in Surgical Hair Restoration

Changing Trends in Surgical Hair Restoration: Use of Google Trends and the ISHRS Practice Census Survey

INTRODUCTION:

Hair loss affects most people at some point in their lifetime, causing anxiety and decreased self-esteem. There are multiple surgical and non-surgical treatments available, with the surgical options having greater and longer-lasting effects.

Such treatments have evolved over time with advances in technology and research, with numerous patients researching these treatments on Google. Many surgeons who provide these treatments belong to the International Society of Hair Restoration Surgeons (ISHRS).

METHODS:

Patient epidemiological and surgical data from the ISHRS were combined with search trend data from Google to analyze changing trends in surgical hair restoration treatment.

RESULTS:

Worldwide internet searches for “hair transplant” have increased from 2004 to the present. Follicular Unit Excision (FUE) has supplanted Follicular Unit Transplant (FUT) as the most popular hair transplant performed. Since 2004, there has been an increase in both non-surgical and surgical female patients.

Beard and eyebrow transplants have increased in popularity. Google searches follow this trend. Non-surgical treatments such as platelet-rich plasma (PRP) are being searched more frequently. Hair restoration clinics and Google searches were affected adversely by the COVID-19 pandemic.

CONCLUSION:

Technological advances in available therapies, improvement in delivery systems, changes in hair fashion, and global events have a direct impact on hair restoration treatments offered by physicians and researched by patients.

It is in the best interest of all hair restoration providers to keep abreast of changing technologies and treatment trends to stay at the forefront of their profession.

Breakthrough Hair Regeneration Therapy to Cure Hair Loss

Breakthrough Hair Regeneration Therapy to Cure Hair Loss

Stemson Therapeutics Secures $7.5M Seed Financing for the Development of Breakthrough Hair Regeneration Therapy to Cure Hair Loss

Stemson Therapeutics announced today a $7.5 million seed financing led by Allergan Aesthetics, an AbbVie Company, and impact investor Fortunes Capital to advance the development of Stemson’s therapeutic solution to cure hair loss. Stemson aims to restore human hair growth with a novel approach using the patient’s own cells to generate new hair follicles.

Allergan Aesthetics is a world-leading medical aesthetics company. Fortunis Capital, a London-based venture capital firm, is committed to continuing support of Stemson’s regenerative cell therapy to treat hair loss. Fortunis Capital’s new Impact Fund intends to invest in companies, such as Stemson, who offer significant social or environmental benefit.

“Stemson’s novel cell therapy approach to treat hair loss has game-changing potential. Their experienced management team is poised to elevate its proprietary regenerative cell therapy method as it begins the next phase of its preclinical program,” stated Sir Andrew Ross, Director of Investments at Fortunis Capital. “Fortunis Capital is committed to supporting companies that are creating innovative solutions with a worldwide social or environmental benefit, and we believe that Stemson has the team, technology and the tools in place to develop a therapy capable of solving the hair loss problem for millions of people in need.”

The seed funding supports the preclinical development of Stemson’s Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell (iPSC) based technology, which is capable of producing the cell types required to initiate hair follicle growth. Globally, hundreds of millions of men and women suffer from various forms of hair loss, and no solution today is capable of generating a new supply of follicles for patients in need.

“Allergan Aesthetics’ research and development efforts are focused on products and technologies that drive the advancement of aesthetics medicine. Hair loss is a significant unmet medical need for millions of men and women, and Stemson Therapeutics’ efforts to develop novel methods to regrow hair is an opportunity to make a difference in this area,” said Yehia Hashad, M.D. Senior Vice President, Research and Development, Allergan Aesthetics.

The initial seed financing allows Stemson to expand its management team and R&D resources, while recent approval of a foundational patent provides stability surrounding the Company’s efforts to develop its radical solution for hair growth.

The additions of Meghan Samberg, Ph.D. as Vice President of R&D and Preclinical Development, and Cenk Sumen, Ph.D. as Chief Technology Officer, complement the work of Stemson’s cofounder and Chief Scientific Officer, Dr. Alexey Terskikh and the R&D team. Stemson received approval in the United States of its cornerstone Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell (iPSC) method patent licensed exclusively from the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute. The patent covers a novel process developed by Dr. Terskikh to differentiate iPSC into dermal papilla cells, the cell type primarily responsible for controlling hair follicle generation and hair cycling. The patent secures foundational methods using iPSC cell therapy to grow hair.

“Stemson has established the biological and technical building blocks which are needed to solve the problem of hair loss. A truly curative solution is now feasible, and we have built a world-class team to deliver a therapy for the millions of hair loss sufferers across the world,” said Geoff Hamilton, co-founder and chief executive officer of Stemson Therapeutics. “We are grateful for support from Allergan Aesthetics and Fortunis Capital, and we look forward to expanding our base of investors as we move toward our first human clinical trial.”

About Cell Regeneration Technology

Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell (iPSC) has the unique capability to replicate indefinitely and give rise to all cell types of the human body, including the cell types required for repair. iPSC-based technology is capable of producing the cell types required to initiate hair follicle growth. As a new therapeutic platform, iPSCs represent an emerging area of regenerative cell therapy. Stemson is one of a growing number of companies at the forefront in developing iPSC-based treatments.

New Post on Robotic Hair Transplant

Silicon Valley Hair Institute Announces New Post on Robotic Hair Transplant using the FUE Methodology for Patients

Silicon Valley Hair Institute, a best-in-class hair transplant clinic in Foster City and serving the Bay Area from San Francisco to Palo Alto to San Jose, is proud to announce a new post on FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) transplant, which is often called by the terms “robotic hair transplant” or ARTAS transplant.

The post advocates that patients reach out to Dr Miguel Canales for a consultation to determine whether they are a good candidate for FUE transplant right here in the Bay Area.

“Bay Area residents are generally very focused on technology,” explained Miguel Canales, founder of Silicon Valley Hair Institute and a leading San Francisco Bay Area hair loss specialist. “It comes as no surprise, therefore, that they are curious about FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) methodologies that are easily available to them here in Foster City and indeed the whole Bay Area, from Oakland to San Jose to San Francisco.”

Persons who would like to read the post in its entirety can visit https://siliconvalleyhairinstitute.com/if-you-are-suffering-from-thinning-hair-we-have-a-robot-that-can-help/.

The post explains how robotic technologies can provide superior performance for both men and women who are seeking hair loss restoration therapies such as FUE.

The company uses the ARTAS system and has a newly updated page on ARTAS at https://siliconvalleyhairinstitute.com/artas/. Indeed, those who are interested in skincare as an adjunct to better-looking hair can visit the company’s sister website at https://svaestheticderm.com/.

FUE (FOLLICULAR UNIT EXTRACTION) AND HAIR LOSS RESTORATION

Here is the background on this release. San Francisco Bay Area clients, from San Francisco to San Jose, are heavily interested in technology. The area arguably leads the world in technology, and thus it comes as no surprise that affluent Bay Area consumers are eager to investigate the latest and greatest technologies for mitigating hair loss.

Indeed, it’s a fact that most men and even many women will face hair loss during the adult lifetimes. FUE (Follicular Unit Extraction) uses robotic technology to harvest hair follicles and then replant them in the scalp.

The post explains how the methodology works, and the website has even more detailed information so that “techies” can learn more.

However, whether or not the technology is cool is not the point. The point is whether or not it will work for a given individual’s hair loss problem. For that reason, the post concludes that the best next step is to reach out for a consultation with Dr Miguel Canales, who can evaluate the person’s hair loss and make recommendations including but not limited to FUE transplant in the Bay Area.

ABOUT SILICON VALLEY HAIR INSTITUTE

Silicon Valley Hair Institute (http://siliconvalleyhairinstitute.com/), under the leadership of top-rated California hair transplant surgeon Miguel Canales MD, is one of the best facilities offering San Francisco Bay Area hair transplants. Dr Canales provides the full range of advanced hair transplant and hair restoration procedures for Bay Area residents, from San Francisco to San Mateo to Palo Alto.
